Blue Mountains Plein Air Landscape Painting Retreat

project description

The Blue Mountains Painting Retreat is a 4-day plein air painting retreat, from Monday 10 - Thursday 14 November 2025, in breathtaking surroundings, in which participants will learn new techniques and grow in confidence painting outdoors, alongside like-minded people. Join experienced retreat facilitator and landscape artist Corinne Loxton, in luxurious accommodation, with unsurpassed views on the cliff edge in Blackheath, to explore and develop your painting skills and learn about accessing your creative flow. You will be encouraged to follow your intuition and tap into your unique style with Corinne’s expert guidance. With uninterrupted views of the Grosse Valley, to Pulpit Rock and beyond, the secluded location ensures you will disconnect from everyday life and immerse in nature. You will have time to rest, meditate, journal, bushwalk or just curl up with a great book in the beautifully landscaped gardens. As well as the tuition in painting Corinne will introduce you to practices she uses to reliably connect with creative flow - contemplative walking, meditation, mindful movement, yoga and journaling. Together we will visit some of the local art galleries and share in meals. You will have plenty of time for personal reflection, grounded movement and restoration to ensure you feel re-energised and inspired after the 4 days.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF NGURRA

The City of the Blue Mountains is located within the Ngurra (Country) of the Dharug and Gundungurra peoples. MTNS MADE recognises that Dharug and Gundungurra Traditional Owners have a continuous and deep connection to their Country and that this is of great cultural significance to Aboriginal people, both locally and in the region. For Dharug and Gundungurra People, Ngurra takes in everything within the physical, cultural and spiritual landscape – landforms, waters, air, trees, rocks, plants, animals, foods, medicines, minerals, stories and special places. It includes cultural practice, kinship, knowledge, songs, stories and art, as well as spiritual beings, and people: past, present and future. Blue Mountains City Council pays respect to Elders past and present while recognising the strength, capacity and resilience of past and present Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Blue Mountains region.
